If you’re a chic, city-loving couple who wants a stress-free wedding experience, a city elopement is perfect for you. As a city elopement photographer, I have found that urban environments offer so much variety to make your day your own. City elopements allow for luxurious details, amazing food, skyline views, and gorgeous photo opportunities – all within steps of your hotel room.
As an elopement photographer, I am here to document your elopement day. Whether you want a couple of hours with me to photograph the ceremony and a few photos after, or you want all-day coverage starting with getting ready photos through your celebratory dinner for two (my personal favorite because it tells the whole story), I have elopement packages available for your city elopement. And of course, I’m an LGBTQ+ photographer who celebrates all love!
Through my love of travel and cities, I’ve found some amazing places for couples to elope!
New York is a classic for a reason. Whether you’re obsessed with the brownstones of Brooklyn or the hustle of Manhattan, New York offers everything you could want and more in a city for an elopement. Keep it simple and go to the courthouse, bring some family and friends along and rent one of the amazing venues available in NYC, pick a gorgeous spot in Central Park, or overlook the city by eloping at The Top of the Rock. Celebrate into the night in the city that never sleeps!
Chicago is the perfect place for an urban elopement. Whether you’re craving saying your I Do’s along the Lake Michigan shoreline, among the skyscrapers on a rooftop, or in a lush green space, Chicago elopements have such a charm. Many hotels and restaurants have great options for elopements or stick to the original City Hall. Some iconic photo spots include the Riverfront, Millenium Park (but be sure to get a permit), and North Avenue Beach.
What’s not to love about NOLA?! The city pride is abundant, the food is amazing, the nightlife is unbeatable, and the architecture is breathtaking. Pick a spot in the iconic French Quarter, head to the beautiful and luscious City Park, or book a spot in one of The Big Easy’s romantic hotels for your New Orleans elopement.
This city isn’t just for country lovers! Nashville has midwestern charm, city lights, live music, hip restaurants, and fun bars. If you’re wanting a smaller city, definitely think about Nashville for your elopement! There are many affordable, small venues in Nashville, which is perfect if you’re wanting to bring along a few friends and family members. Plus, Nashville weather is pretty moderate all year round! Some great areas for elopement photos in Music City include Downtown, East Nashville, Centennial Park, the Gulch, and of course, Music Row.
Love New England East Coast charm? Choose Boston for your elopement! The Boston Commons, Boston Public Gardens, Seaport, and of course, City Hall, are all great places for your Boston elopement. Boston is so beautiful that you can truly get stunning photographs anywhere. Tip: If you’re driving in, park at one of the many garages outside of the city and take the T in. If you’re flying, I’d skip the rental car. You can use the T and Uber to get around the city. The T is $22.50 for unlimited uses for 7 days.
This day is about celebrating you two and what you love, so be sure to pick a city that fits your personality and what you’re wanting out of your wedding day! By eloping, you can start your honeymoon immediately after saying those I Do’s in the city you just eloped in! And be sure to bring me, your favorite city elopement photographer 😉
