Sarah and Jamie’s Bluestem Farm wedding was perfect! These high school sweethearts tied the knot after almost ten years together on October 1, 2022. From beginning to end, their personal styles showed up in every detail of the day. From vintage glassware to wood-fired pizzas for dinner, each detail was intentional and felt truly like Jamie and Sarah. I love when couples make their wedding their own, and they definitely did just that!
Jamie and Sarah met through some mutual friends in high school when they were just 15 years old. Jamie asked Sarah out in a classically high school way – while they were walking their bikes home after hanging out with our friend group at a neighborhood park. Sarah said yes, and their romance began! These two looked so in love the whole night. When you scroll through the photos, you will see how sweetly they look at each other. It’s heartwarming to know that the love that sparked in high school is still alive and thriving!
Jamie proposed to Sarah in 2020, right after they adopted their dog, Jane (who was the star of the show, only second to Sarah and Jamie)! They were taking a walk in their favorite park with Jane for the first time when he popped the question. Sarah said, “It was very sweet and simple!”
Jamie and Sarah chose to tie the knot at Bluestem Farm and Events – a family-owned and operated two-story barn with a modern twist. This rustic venue is situated on nearly 140 acres of prairie in Hebron, IL.
Jamie and Sarah got ready in two separate smaller barns, while their sweet dog, Jane, roamed back and forth between them, encouraging them and bringing smiles as they both anticipated their first look (which, of course, she had to be present for). Surrounded by family, friends, and gorgeous wildflowers, their ceremony was sweet and full of love. Jane roamed around and greeted guests during cocktail hour while Jamie and Sarah did photos with me. Their reception was a blast! I loved how the twinkling lights on the second floor of the barn added such a warm ambiance to their wedding reception. Heartwarming speeches were given, a few tears were shed, woodfired pizzas and gelato was eaten, and then it was time to hit the dancefloor! We snuck out for a few minutes because the sunset was absolutely perfect, so we had to get some photos. Once Jamie and Sarah hit the dancefloor, it was popping ALL night, and their guests eagerly lined up to get their booty portraits done by RADIllustrates.
